Cocoa-Bomb. This variation of Thickfreakness is brewed with Videri Chocolate and aged in Jack Daniels barrels. Pours a bit thinner than you would think a BA Imperial Chocolate Stout would. There is a bit of bourbon and bittersweet cocoa nibs on the nose.

After my first taste, the chocolate comes through w/ some strength while the bourbon is almost non-existent. Let this beer warm a bit to get what you should from it which, as I said before, is a cocoa-bomb. Bittersweet chocolate is all that’s left behind which no one will complain about.

The time in the barrel definitely smoothed things out though as it isn’t boozy, in fact it’s quite drinkable. I would like to know how long it was in the barrel for, however. In no way would I have guessed this was aged in bourbon barrels.
