Dale's Pale Ale NASCAR Sponsorship

Heeeeeeeeeelloooooooo perfect storm of North Carolina delight. It’s not quite beer and Cheerwine, but the combination of beer and NASCAR is pretty close to the heart of the Old North State. We’re not talking shirtless patrons chugging Busch Light either (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

Instead a craft beer company is diving into NASCAR sponsorship, with JR Motorsports announcing Tuesday that Oskar Blues would sponsor Regan Smith’s No. 7 car for the October 9 NASCAR XFINITY race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and become a sponsor for a JR digital property as well.

“It’s great to bring Dale’s Pale Ale and Oskar Blues on board,” Smith said. “We take a lot of pride in welcoming new partners into JR Motorsports.  Not only do we get to carry the Dale’s Pale Ale brand on the racecar, but they’re also a tremendous partner for the JR Motorsports Upfront podcast.  It’s a fun and informative program, and Dale’s Pale Ale is a perfect fit for that.”

Also a perfect fit? The color scheme for the car.

Those colors don’t just need to be on a race car, they deserve to be on a race car. Slap ’em on a frame and it looks just look a big metal, aerodynamic can capable of traveling 200 mph.

“Oskar Blues has been breaking boundaries since Dale’s Pale Ale was first canned in 2002,” Dale Katechis, founder of Oskar Blues, said. “We chose the can package for Dale’s because it protects the beer from light and air, and also because cans are more portable, allowing a great beer to be enjoyed in more places, like the racetrack. We are proud to be associated with Regan, Kelley, and all of the JR Motorsports team and look forward to a groundbreaking partnership.”

After the Charlotte race, Dale’s will move back to an associate sponsorship but will also keep working with Smith’s podcast (available by following @DirtyMoRadio on Twitter or on DaleJr.com).
