We recently got a chance to check out Southern Pines Brewing — one of our top up-and-coming breweries, review coming soon! — and if you love North Carolina breweries you’ll want to make a trip to Pinehurst/Southern Pines for a visit to the tap room.
If it happens to be on their one-year anniversary, even better, because Southern Pines is having a big old bash to celebrate their first year of firing out quality craft beer.
The event runs from noon ET to 10 p.m. ET on Saturday, October 17 and is open to anyone that wants to swing by. If you want to do it up right, you can purchase VIP tickets here for $100/person. We’re usually frugal bargain hunters, but the VIP experience sounds like the way to go.
You get the following benefits with your ticket:
- Bottomless glasses of Duck Hook Cream Ale and Man of Law IPA
- VIP tent with tables, chairs and private bathrooms
- “Light hors d’ouvrés throughout the day”
- Special anniversary Teku glass
- Five “special kegs of SPBC beer” — only available to VIPs — that will be tapped “every other hour”
Let’s say you go up there for five hours (and take a cab home …), you’re probably going to drink/eat reasonably close to $100 anyway. Add in the bonus beer, the private banos and the glass and you’ll make out pretty nicely.
If you don’t want to pony up there are also lots of food-truck options, including Stacks Cheddar, Full Moon Oyster Bar, What’s Fore Lunch, Pho Nomenal Dumpling Truck, Kona Ice Truck and R Scoops Ice Cream.
Southern Pines will also have a slew of bands playing including Abigail Dowd (noon-2 p.m.), Skinny Bag of Sugar (2-5), Baxter Clement and the Cadillacs (5-7) and Dr. Bacon (7-10).
But wait, there’s more! Southern Pines will offer a 1-year Anniversary beer you can purchase on tap and in 16-ounce cans (hopefully there’s some for distribution …).
Oh and there’s a bouncy house for kids. What more do you need on a Saturday?
